Gallery DESSA is a private architectural gallery striving to with actively involved in Slovenian and international architectural scene. The gallery has established an international platform for sharing different architectural ideas. The institution has been continuity operating since 1987, making it one of the three European galleries with the longest tradition. It exhibited works by many the most important Slovenian and world-renowned architects. The gallery’s longtime directors Andrej Hrausky and Majda Cajnko have established an internationally renowned gallery that has helped recognition of Slovenian architecture world-wide. The DESSA Gallery is the only institution in the eastern part of Europe which is a member of the Advisory Committee / Advisory Council of the European Prize for Architecture Mies van der Rohe.

Miha Dešman graduates from Ljubljana Faculty of architecture in 1981 and continues postgraduate studies at the IUAV in Venice, Italy. Freelance architect and member of DESSA since 1981. Member of the editorial board and the technical and graphical editor of the reference books publisher Krt that received the Plecnik award in 1988 for their work on the field of theory of architecture. Member of the edito rial of AB magazine for the theory of architecture and its executive editor from 1995 on. Author of over 150 articles and essays, published in books, magazines and other professional and popular media. President of the Architect’s Society of Ljubljana between 2003 – 2006 and president of the executive board of the Plecnik prize. Received several awards for his architectural works: 2012 European Award for Urban Public Space, 2013 Spirit Award, Mies Van der Rohe prize 2015 nomination among others. His works were presented at over 30 international exhibitions and in numerous international architectural printed media. Member of DANS architects since 2004. Miha is Assistant professor of History of Architecture in Ljubljana.
