Aratos trio was formed in 2014 as the idea of popularizing not so typical chamber ensemble, consisting of clarinet, violin and piano. The trio is represented by professional musicians, students of doctoral studies at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade. Aratos trio is engaged in artistic researches and performances of less known repertoire from XX and XXI century, written for this type of chamber ensemble.
Katarina Popović completed primary and master violin studies and specialist studies of chamber music at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade. Currently, she is a student of doctoral studies of chamber music in the class of prof. Goran Marinković. She attended master classes with renowned violinists and teachers, and achieved significant results at national and international competitions. She won the special prize of the Austrian Baroque Academy for outstanding achievements (ABA Music Award 2011). She held numerous performances in Serbia and abroad (Germany, Austria, Norway, Slovenia). She performed in the Orchestra of the Festival of Young Artists in Bayreuth, Maribor International Orchestra, Orchestra Ljubica Marić, Metamorphosis Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra RTS, Belgrade Philharmonic, Belgrade Strings and Camerata Serbica. She is a permanent member of ensembles Belgrade Baroque and Musical Direction: North-South. She founded Aratos trio in 2014. Katarina is permanently employed as a violin teacher at the School for Music Talents in Ćuprija.
Mihailo Samoran graduated and specialized at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade, and currently is student of doctoral studies in clarinet performance, in the class of Prof. Ante Grgin and doctoral studies of chamber music, in the class of Prof. Goran Marinković.
He attended master classes with Professors Jiří Hlaváč, Michelle Letiek and Alexander Neubauer and chamber music course held by the Ensemble Wien - Berlin, consisting of soloists of the Vienna and Berlin Philharmonic. He was finalist of the competition “Jeunesses Musicales” in Bucharest (Romania) in 2002 and Belgrade in 2012. He held numerous performances in renowned concert halls in Belgrade, and performed as a soloist with the Symphony Orchestra of the Faculty of Music in Belgrade, Artistic Ensemble of the Ministry of Defence “Stanislav Binički” and the orchestra Camerata Serbica. As a chamber musician he regularly performs with chamber ensemble Balkan Academy. From season 2006/2007, he is a permanent member of the Belgrade Philharmonic.
Vanja Šćepanović graduated from the Music Academy in Cetinje (Montenegro), in the class of Russian pedagogue Vladimir Bockarjov. He completed master and specialist studies of piano at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade. Currently, he is a student of doctoral studies of chamber music in the class of Prof. Goran Marinković. He has won many awards in the disciplines of solo piano and chamber music, and was awarded with the scholarship of the Ministry of Education and Science, Ministry of Culture and the Institute for International Cooperation. He attended piano masterclasses with the distinguished Russian pianist and pedagogue Vladimir Ovchinnikov, and later studied with Wei Yi Yang, Vladimir Krpan, Kioko Hashimoto, James Parker. He performed in Serbia, Montenegro, Italy, Croatia, Slovenia and Canada.
Cycle is held under the patronage of the City of Belgrade and Company NELT, and is organized by the Faculty of Music and Guarnerius.
