Lunedì 14 settembre al Teatro dell’Opera di Tirana andrà in scena Don Giovanni, dramma giocoso in due atti di Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart su libretto di Lorenzo Da Ponte.
La direzione e concertazione della celeberrima opera di Mozart (lunedì 14 alle ore 19:00 con repliche il 16, 18 e 20) è stata affidata al M° Paolo J. Carbone, che ha già diretto con successo lo scorso maggio al Teatro di Tirana il Requiem tedesco di Johannes Brahms.

The first opera of the season 2015-2016 , Don Giovanni will be put on stage on Monday 14 September 2015, 19.00 hrs to continue during all the coming week on 16, 18 and 20 September 2015.

This production which is totally new as for the direction, sets and costumes will gather some of the most well-known soloists of our theater like Armando Likaj, Eva Golemi, Ulpiana Aliaj, Dorina Selimaj, Eriona Gjyzeli, as well as young talents such as Klodjan Kaçani a new tenor which emphasizes the importance that the theater puts on new artists giving them the opportunity to work in big productions and close to famous artists. Part of the cast are also Italian artists such as Marco Ciaponi (who after Tirana is traveling to Trieste to interpret on the same role in a cast selected by Gianluigi Gelmetti), Daniele Terenzi and Enrico Marchesini. Director of the opera will be Mariano Bauduin.

Orchestra Conductor: Maestro Paolo J. Carbone and for him this is not the first cooperation with the orchestra of TKOB.

Don Giovanni is an opera in two acts with music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Italian libretto by Lorenzo Da Ponte. It is based on the legends of Don Juan, a fictional libertine and seducer. It was premiered by the Prague Italian opera at the Teatro di Praga on October 29, 1787. Da Ponte’s libretto was billed, like many of its time, as dramma giocoso, a term that denotes a mixing of serious and comic action. Although sometimes classified as comic, it blends comedy, melodrama and supernatural elements.

A staple of the standard operatic repertoire, Don Giovanni is currently tenth on the Opera base list of the most-performed operas worldwide. It has also proved a fruitful subject for writers and philosophers.
